Materialdistrict features Omatterials, Omlab’s waste based material prototypes. The article written by Sigrid Lussenburg gives indepth info about BuildMatterial and ItBettermatter and Maacq Oase (co-operation with Fillip Studios).
– Material District > Omlab’s Omatterials.
Omlab’s circular material prototypes are 3D-printable, environmentally friendly, biodegradable and made of (sewage) water waste. Two versions:
First ‘ItBetterMatter’, the material base of Maacq Oase. With this concept Omlab x Fillip Studios explores a possible solution to combat the negative effects of nitrogen deposition on biodiversity. The prototype ‘BuildMatterial’ allows for building blocks, stackable and as strong as gypsum blocks. These are part of Omlab’s research into sustainable options for 3d constructive printing.
