At Omlab, we believe construction and (soil)biodiversity needs to enhance each other. Omlab designs and makes with 100 percent respect for nature and future. All resources are circular and/or biobased. No minerals, no fossil resources.
Omlab is a studio for circular and biobased material research and design. We initiate, are part of co-development projects or kickstart other companies’ circular trajectory. Omlab works from a workshop in Arnhem. So mission and method co-insides: Make (!) the difference.
Our focus on 3D-printing stems from this aim. Waste based materials require smart design. With 3D-printing you can reduce material use, add strength through design and add functionality like ventilation or plumbing shafts. We developed a material prototype with the strength of cellular concrete [C8]. Together with Bruil Prefab Printing, we developed a material prototype twice as strong and printable with industrial robots.
Let’s make 3d constructive printing (#3dcp) circular and more sustainable.
Samples of our 3dprints are part of the material library of Foster and Partners in London and Gucci in Milan as well as collections of the Dutch Watermuseum (Arnhem) and Museon (The Hague).
Omlab’s home base: Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Omlab designs and makes with 100 percent respect for nature and future.
3d printed circular building blocks
Omlab 3dprints with circular resources from water treatment (drinking water and sewage). We make building elements and research the sustainability of 3d constructive printing while we’re working on it. In the end of ’21, Omlab made 24 stackable building elements, with integrated functions. On show at the Floriade, from April 14 till October 9 2022.
