Omlab is a rethink tank that designs for infranature and nature-friendly construction, without a shred of concrete. The studio works from the workshop, where design coincides with material development for partners, collaboration, research.
Omlab developes your resources into printable or extrudable material or examples to support your ambitions. Omlab can (help) make a lot of resources printable or extrudable. From used flushed toilet paper to cow dung. So Omlab can also advise your company on the next CO2-friendly step of your resources. Research this together in rethink masterclasses and design workshops.
Omlab explores ecologically friendly biodegradable (!) construction and infrastructure materials.
The studio collaborates with construction and concrete companies, architects, education and research institutes. Previously, the studio developed circular 3D-printed building modules, from scale 1:4 to 1:1 (Exploded View: Number Two), in a year’s time. With lightweight, biodegradable, non-mineral, and with the strength of aerated concrete [C8].
Omlab participated in TNO Fieldlab in the context of The national emission-free building programme. It provided the (provisional) ECI of the lightweight material prototype Buildmatterial: 0.011 and kgCO2-eq:0.14.
