Omlab is a circular biobased design studio in its own workshop. Make (!) the difference is mission and method for nature-friendly design research and development.
Omlab only works with raw materials that are already in circulation. We take clients, co-creators and consortium partners into design sessions in our atelier. In these sessions the plan or prototype is taken forward step by step, with the knowledge and skills of the attendees. We do this in the workshop, which has both a digital side and an artisanal side for prototyping.
Omlab researches, designs, develops.
Omlab explores the value of residual flows from companies and sectors. Omlab explores these resources as nature-friendly biodegradable building and infrastructure material, without fossil raw materials, minerals or chemistry that nature cannot use. The studio works together with construction and concrete companies, architects and education.
Previously, Omlab developed circular 3D-printed building modules in one year, from scale 1:4 to 1:1 (Exploded View: Number Two). Lightweight, biodegradable, mineral-free and with the strength of aerated concrete [C8].
Omlab is a re-think tank, both in workshops and design and advisory processes.
